Marumba: ‘Time Has Come’

Time Has Come is the title of Marumba’s new album, released on DJ Afghan’s Soulove Records label. It includes nine roots reggae, one drop and steppe tracks embellished with instrumental dub versions.

For this work, Marumba led a team of excellent musicians who are part of the Playmore Band, with collaborations including Deadly Hunta, Mannaroman, Livio Roaring Bass, Dub Harp and Adriano Taborro.

Marumba himself, who took care of the music and arrangements, talking about the album explained: “The time has come to come to terms with one’s past and present, and to have the dignity of explaining what war is. We must learn from children, they are incapable of causing so much pain to others, without prejudice and arrogance. Nature teaches us that where there is diversity, life thrives, but we are following the path of homologation, and this is a diabolical plan.”

The tracks were mixed by Petah Sunday (I-tal Soup Studio – London, UK), DJ Afghan aka Andrea Malservigi (Bunker Studio – Ferrara) and Marumba himself (Playmore Studio – Ancona) and mastered by Manuel Scaramuzzino (Master Your Track – London, UK).

Time Has Come is available on vinyl in a limited series and on digital platforms.

Time Has Come è il titolo del nuovo album di Marumba, uscito per l’etichetta Soulove Records di Dj Afghan. Include nove tracce roots reggae, one drop e steppa impreziosite da dub version strumentali.

Per questo lavoro, Marumba ha guidato una squadra di musicisti d’eccellenza che fanno parte della Playmore Band, con collaborazioni tra cui spiccano Deadly Hunta, Mannaroman, Livio Roaring bass, Dub Harp e Adriano Taborro.

Lo stesso Marumba, che ha curato composizione e arrangiamenti, parlando delle tematiche del disco ha detto: “È arrivato il tempo di fare i conti con il proprio passato e presente, e di avere la dignità di spiegare cosa sia la guerra. Dobbiamo imparare dai bambini, incapaci di causare tanto dolore al prossimo, senza pregiudizi e arroganza. La natura ci insegna che dove c’è diversità prospera la vita, mentre stiamo percorrendo la strada dell’omologazione, e questo è un piano diabolico”.

Le tracce sono state mixate da Petah Sunday (I-tal Soup Studio – Londra, UK), DJ Afghan aka Andrea Malservigi (Bunker Studio – Ferrara) e lo stesso Marumba (Playmore Studio – Ancona) e masterizzato da Manuel Scaramuzzino (Master Your Track – Londra, UK).
